Anlaşma Mozilla Foundation açısından son derece hayati. Nitekim sadece 2006 senesinde Google 56.8 milyon USD ödeme yapmış. Bu miktar kurumun toplam gelirinin %85'ine tekabül ediyor.

Firefox'un karşı konulmaz yükselişi Google'ın seve seve anlaşmaya yanaşmasını sağlamış olmalı. Google'dan sağlam para kazanan Mozilla da bu paranın hakkını şimdilik veriyor: Internet Explorer hala web tarayıcı pazarının büyük bir bölümünü elinde bulundursa da yavaş yavaş Firefox tarafından daraltılıyor. Yalnız Microsoft yeni Internet Explorer 8 ile cevap vermeye hazırlanıyor. Fakat Mozilla buna karşı da hazırlıklı. Sene sonunda çıkacağı söylenen Firefox 3.1 yeni JavaScript Motoruyla bir yığın kodla dolu web sayfalarını bile hızlı bir biçimde açabilecekmiş.
